Greetings From the Steering Committee

Greetings, Friends!

We send you warm greetings, full of Light, at this dark time of the year, with hope for the future of the world, most especially for the 1816 Farmington Quaker Meetinghouse and the ideals that it represents. We appreciate so much your support throughout this year and every year. This project would not happen without you.

In 2009, we will be sending out regular reports of our work. If you have not already done so, thank you for subscribing to our mailing list. To subscribe send an empty email to

The Steering Committee has been very active this year. Read all about it in the 2008 Annual Report on the Steering Committee page. Highlights include:

• holding many public programs
• working with the National Park Service on their reconnaissance study of the meetinghouse, initiated by Congressman Randy Kuhl
• raising $66,500 (from the National Park Service’s Network to Freedom, Rochester Area Community Foundation, Canandaigua Bank, and many private individuals) toward the $96,000 we need to initiate the first phase of work on this meetinghouse. We are so grateful for all this help, especially at such a critical time.
• working to form a separate 501c3 corporation called the 1816 Farmington Quaker Meetinghouse.

• Contributions are always welcome! In this difficult economic climate, we doubly appreciate your help. We still need $29,500 to complete our match for the National Park Service’s grant. We also have $6100 in current expenses (for our contractor and insurance).
